Kanpur: Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday described the Election Commission ’s work as historic and said the BJP supported the SIR process, claiming that names of ineligible people added to the voter list due to “appeasement politics” were being removed.

He said attempts to secure votes by dividing Hindu society would not succeed and claimed that the SP would head towards Saifai after the 2027 election results, troubling Congress and its allies.
