On Monday, Kanpur’s air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 47, placing it in the ‘good’ category. This level indicates minimal health impact from air pollutants for the city’s residents.
Based on readings from the Central Pollution Control Board at 4pm, Kanpur was placed in the green zone with an AQI of 47, according to data available on the Prana portal. The Prana portal monitors air quality in around 237 cities across the country. Sri Ganganagar was the only city in the ‘poor’ category, recording an AQI of 276.
PM10 was reported as the major pollutant there.
