Kidnapped youth rescued in 7 hrs in Jhansi; two held

On Monday, police in Jhansi successfully rescued a 39-year-old man within seven hours of his reported abduction. Authorities arrested two suspects in connection with the incident. The swift response highlights the effectiveness of local law enforcement in addressing such criminal cases.

The incident came to light on Sunday night when police received information through UP-112 that Vikas Kumar Gupta, resident of Panchvati in Kotwali area, was forcibly taken away in a vehicle. Police arrested both the accused, Vinay Yadav (35), resident of Mahendrapuri Colony on Gwalior Road and Ravi Yadav (35), resident of Ayodhyapuri Colony, under Sipri Bazar police station limits. A case was registered at Sipri Bazar police station under Sections 140(3), 115(2) of the BNS.

Acting swiftly, Sipri Bazar police, along with the SWAT and surveillance teams, launched a search operation and traced the vehicle and rescued Gupta safely within seven hours.

The arrested accused were being produced before a court for further legal proceedings, police said. The vehicle used in the abduction was also recovered.

SP city Preeti Singh said preliminary investigation indicated that the abduction followed an altercation and personal dispute. Gupta was medically examined after his rescue and later handed over to his family.
