Lucknow: The 22-year-old woman who was allegedly dragged on a car’s bonnet by her boyfriend has now claimed that he ( Shahnawaz ) concealed his identity and introduced himself as Ayush Yash Thakur. The woman has further alleged that she is now facing pressure from his family to settle the matter and withdraw the case against him.
Describing the Sept 16 incident — when she dragged on the car’s bonnet driven by Shahnawaz near the Janeshwar Mishra Park after an argument with him — Anamika claimed she could have died.
Police said all allegations, including those related to the relationship, identity and alleged pressure for compromise, are being probed. Police arrested Shahnawaz within hours of the incident and seized his car.
Ongoing Communication Amid Disagreements
Despite recent disagreements, Anamika and Shahnawaz have maintained regular communication. Anamika reported that they spoke frequently and met several times, including visits to Shahnawaz’s home. During their relationship, she also had the opportunity to meet some of his family members.
