Varanasi: A family dispute in Varanasi turned violent on Friday evening when a licensed revolver accidentally went off during a scuffle between a 67-year-old man and his son in New Colony Kakarmatta area under Bhelupur police station area.
His injured son, Praveen Kumar Singh (35), was admitted to the trauma centre of BHU, where his condition was stable.
Bhelupur inspector Durga Singh said that Binda Singh was arrested following detailed investigation and collection of evidence and his licensed revolver was seized. Hearing the gunshot, neighbours rushed to the spot, while family members rushed Praveen to BHU Trauma Centre. After receiving information, Bhelupur police reached the scene, inspected the spot and seized the revolver.

During a dispute, Binda took out his licensed revolver. When Praveen tried to snatch the weapon, it accidentally went off, and the bullet struck him in the hand, injuring him.
