BJP's 3-day foot marches from today to show strength & mobilise cadre

Shivraj Singh Chouhan

The three-day mobilisation programme will conclude on Nov 5 with the western region march in Ghaziabad , which will be attended by CM Yogi Adityanath . Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya will be present at the Kashi region march in Prayagraj, while deputy CM Brajesh Pathak will participate in the Kanpur region march. Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will lead the Awadh region march in Lucknow on Tuesday, while Union minister JP Nadda will participate in the Braj region march in Bareilly. On Wednesday, BJP president Nitin Nabin and state BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary will participate in the Gorakhpur region march.

The party has set a target of mobilising at least 25,000 workers for each march, translating into a collective participation of 1.5 lakh or more party workers across the six regions. With each march expected to draw at least 25,000 participants, the exercise is considerably more than a routine organisational programme.

BJP sources said the campaign will demonstrate the party’s ability to mobilise workers on a large scale, bring its leadership closer to the cadre and establish a coordinated political presence across the state’s diverse regions. . Rather than restricting the campaign to state-level functionaries, the BJP has deployed prominent faces from its national leadership to reinforce the political and organisational importance of the exercise, experts said. The exercise is being planned as a large-scale political mobilisation initiative to energise the organisation, strengthen its grassroots network and take the party’s political narrative to the masses. The participation of several senior national and state members, including Union ministers and the CM, is seen as the party’s aggressive bid to mobilise its cadre against the SP and Congress in the run-up to state elections. The geographical spread of the programme is equally important. From Lucknow and Bareilly to Prayagraj, Gorakhpur and Ghaziabad, the marches will cover key political and organisational centres across the state. This allows the party to undertake a synchronised mobilisation exercise while ensuring that its leadership is visible in different regions.
