The hoardings carried the message: “When will student union elections be restored in UP?” Gorakhpur : A case was registered at Cantt police station against NSUI state general secretary Aditya Shukla on Friday for allegedly putting up hoardings and flex banners at various locations in the city without obtaining permission from the municipal corporation.
Cantt police station SHO Jitendra Singh said the evidence related to the hoardings and flex banners was being examined. “Further action will be taken based on the facts that emerge during the investigation,” he said.
Permission is mandatory for installing hoardings, banners and other publicity material in the city, according to municipal officials. The case was registered on the complaint of additional municipal commissioner Pramod Kumar . In his complaint, he alleged that hoardings and flex banners had been installed at several places, including the Gorakhpur University Students’ Union Crossing, without the required approval. The civic body takes action against unauthorised advertisements and promotional displays.
