Lucknow: Chief minister marked Valmiki Jayanti at Bithoor ashram, where he performed prayers and offered floral tributes to the saint. The CM also offered prayers at an ancient Shivling at the ashram, which is believed to have also been worshipped by Maharshi Valmiki. He then visited Sita Kutia and the ancient Peelu tree located in the complex. Bithoor is associated with Sita’s exile, as the site of Maharshi Valmiki’s meditation and the birth of Luv and Kush, holding special importance in the Ramayan tradition.
