CM Yogi, Rail minister to launch train services on Nepalganj Road-Bahraich Section today

Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw through video conferencing, will inaugurate train services on the newly developed Nepalganj Road- Nanpara -Bahraich rail section at a function to be held at Nepalganj Road railway station on Monday, CPRO, NER, Sumit Kumar informed.

Inaugural Train Service to Launch with Key Political Attendance

The launch of the Nepalganj Road–Varanasi City Special train service, designated as train number 05064, is scheduled for a ceremonial flag-off. The event will feature attendance from prominent political figures, including Bahraich MP Anand Kumar Gond and Dumariyaganj MP Jagdambika Pal, along with senior railway officials and other public representatives.

Railway officials said the new connectivity would also benefit people from neighbouring Nepal, as Nepalganj serves as an important gateway for cross-border movement. The launch of train operations on Nepalganj Road-Nanpara-Bahraich section is expected to significantly improve rail connectivity in the region. Passengers from Nepalganj Road will now have direct rail access to Bahraich, Gonda, Gorakhpur and Varanasi, providing faster and more convenient travel options. Improved transportation links are expected to boost trade, tourism and cultural exchanges between the two countries. The project is also expected to accelerate socio-economic development in Bahraich, an aspirational district, by enhancing mobility and facilitating greater economic activity in the region.
