Videos of the reptiles moving through roads and residential neighbourhoods have also flooded social media. Around 10pm, a crocodile was spotted beside Mainawati Marg, outside NRI City, sending motorists to a halt as they pulled over to record the animal. Gupta Society and Makdikheda, residential areas along the same road, have remained waterlogged for several days, with videos of crocodiles from these localities also surfacing online. In another sighting under Chaubepur police station limits, passers-by spotted a crocodile on a village road between Rautapur and Umri at night. People stopped their vehicles as the animal moved along the road before slipping into water in a field. The sightings have heightened concern in areas along the Ganga, where the rising water level has inundated riverside villages and left several stretches waterlogged. With floodwater entering low-lying areas, residents have been keeping a close watch on roads and fields, particularly after dark. Videos circulating on social media show crocodiles moving through areas affected by the rising water level.
