Kanpur: Intermittent cloud cover and bright sunshine kept the city’s weather sultry on Saturday, with the maximum temperature rising by 3.6 degrees Celsius compared to the previous day. The maximum temperature was recorded at 32.2°C, against 28.6°C on Friday, according to the CSA weather observatory. The minimum temperature, however, remained unchanged at 24.8°C. The maximum relative humidity dropped to 80%, while south-easterly winds blew at speeds ranging between 8.4 and 16.8 kmph, providing some relief from the oppressive conditions.

CSA University weather expert SN Sunil Pandey said partly to heavily cloudy skies are likely to prevail over the next five days. Despite predictions of showers, the city remained largely dry throughout the day. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, may occur at isolated places. He added that humidity levels are likely to increase whenever sunshine breaks through the clouds, potentially making the weather more uncomfortable.
