Lucknow: Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said Uttar Pradesh assembly polls may well be the last of the elections if one goes by the manner in which two election commissioners objected to 14 decisions of the Commission related to special intensive revision (SIR) within a span of 10 months.

Prior to this, Akhilesh held a copy of The Indian Express to underscore the report that two election commissioners, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi , reportedly recorded 14 formal notes of objection/dissent within a span of 10 months regarding decisions made by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar during the SIR exercise. If the demand is not met, then after forming the govt in 2027, the SP govt will give adequate compensation to them,” Akhilesh said.
“Then we produced before the media a man who was illiterate and Form 7 were signed and submitted by his signature and name to get names of SP voters deleted from electoral rolls,” Akhilesh said, adding that no action was taken against a single person on the issue. Akhilesh read out a list of individuals from Ayodhya, many of whom addressed the media at the news conference convened by the SP chief, and estimated the cost of household items and goods related to businesses that have been damaged in the demolition drive. “I demand that the chief minister must compensate them adequately.
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday demanded that the govt should provide adequate compensation to all those who have been displaced in Ayodhya without prior notice and whose homes and business establishments have been razed before they could even vacate the premises.
