In Lucknow, a father and son have been charged with defrauding a man of Rs 27 lakh under the guise of leasing a property on Station Road for a restaurant venture. The scam was uncovered when the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) sealed the property, which was still under construction. The complainant subsequently identified inconsistencies in the ownership documents, prompting legal action against the duo.
Complainant Rizwan Murtaza, a resident of Khyaliganj in Kaiserbagh, was searching for a property to start a restaurant in 2023 when he came in contact with the accused, according to police. They allegedly claimed that a property on Hussainganj Station Road belonged to his family and offered it on rent.
