FIR against 3 over tannery worker’s disappearance

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Kanpur: Nawabganj police have registered an FIR against three individuals, including two women, in connection with the disappearance of a 28-year-old tannery employee who went missing on Aug 29 while on his way to celebrate his birthday.

However, around 4.30 pm on Aug 30, Sameer called Abhishek and informed him that Amitesh had gone missing near Ganga Barrage.

Amitesh Jayant had gone to celebrate his birthday with friends but did not return home, according to police. She told police that Amitesh’s damaged mobile phone was found in Naina’s possession, while another accused, Sameer, had Amitesh’s wallet, which was later returned to the family. Based on these circumstances, Kamlesh Kumari told police that she suspected her son had been abducted and killed. Nawabganj SHO Chandrashekhar said a case had been registered and further investigation was underway.

When Abhishek reached the spot, he met Sameer and Nandini. Sameer then took him to Nawabganj police station, where he allegedly drafted a missing person report and asked Abhishek to sign it.
