Following the recent shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff, security has been increased at Disha Patani’s family residence.
Officials said the step was taken as a precaution, as the Patani residence itself was targeted in a firing incident on September 12, 2025. Mumbai Police have formed 15 specialised teams to investigate the incident. SSP Arya said Ramnivas alias Deepak, who carried a bounty of Rs 25,000 and had allegedly planned the firing, was injured in the leg. Two other suspects, Ravindra and Arun, were killed in an encounter involving the UP STF and the Delhi Police Special Cell in Ghaziabad on September 17.

SSP Arya told TOI, “We have asked the deployed police to be on alert and inform us if they find anything suspicious. A joint operation with Rajasthan Police led to the detention of three suspects, including a minor, at Kota railway station while they were allegedly attempting to flee to Nepal, according to Mumbai Police. My police reflexes kicked in, and I dodged the bullets,” he said. The account was deactivated within hours, and police said the profile appeared to have been newly created. The attack is suspected to be linked to a controversy in July involving Khushboo Patani, a retired Army major and wellness coach, who criticised ‘katha vachak’ Aniruddh Acharya over a remark she described as “misogynist”.
The circle officer also visited to take stock of the security. In Mumbai, three motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly fired multiple shots, around three to five rounds, targeting the front passenger seat of Shroff’s vehicle at close range as he was leaving a football ground in the Juhu suburb on Sunday.
MEERUT: Following the firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai on Sunday, security at the Civil Lines residence of actor Disha Patani’s family in Bareilly has been placed on 24-hour alert on the directions of SSP Anurag Arya. The firing at the Patani residence took place on September 12, 2025, when two bike-borne men allegedly fired nine rounds outside the house.
Jagdish Patani said he sensed something was amiss when the family dog barked persistently at a parked motorcycle. Soon after, a post from an account identifying itself with the Goldy Brar group claimed responsibility, citing “insults to revered saints”. Disha was not at home, but her parents and siblings were inside. On stepping outside, he saw two helmeted men. Another post, attributed to a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi-associated gang, threatened the family and the film industry.
Shroff escaped without gunshot wounds but sustained minor abrasions and burns from gunpowder and broken glass. He moved to the driver’s seat and rushed his injured driver to the hospital.
