In the past 24 hours, the water levels of the Yamuna at Naini and the Ganga at Chhatnag rose by 60 cm and 55 cm, respectively. The water levels of the Ganga at Phaphamau and Chhatnag were recorded at 79.29 m (2 cm rise) and 78.05 m (55 cm rise), respectively, while the water level of the Yamuna at Naini stood at 78.53 m by 8 am. At 12 noon, the water level of the Yamuna at Naini was 78.86 m (33 cm rise), while the levels of the Ganga at Phaphamau and Chhatnag stood at 79.33 m and 78.29 m, respectively. However, both rivers are still flowing six metres below the danger mark, which stands at 84.734 m.
Prayagraj : The water levels of the Yamuna at Naini and the Ganga at Chhatnag rose for the second consecutive day on Sunday following a surge in the rivers in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh due to rainfall over the past three days. Officials said that due to the discharge of flood and rainwater into the Ken and Betwa rivers, the water level of the Yamuna has increased over the past 48 hours.
