Kanpur: A 32-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after drinking dye and later hanging himself following a dispute with his wife in Shakti Nagar area under Chakeri police station limits in Kanpur late Monday.

His elder brother, Suraj , said Magavendra had completed BSc and BEd but remained under stress after failing to secure a job. Station in charge Ajay Prakash Mishra said no suicide note was found. Magavendra Pratap Singh worked in a CCTV camera company and lived with his wife, Roshni. Family members repeatedly called him, but he did not open the gate. They broke it open and found his body hanging. Police reached the spot after being informed, conducted an inquiry, and sent the body for postmortem.
