Kanpur: A 40-year-old man named Dilip from Shivganj village in Kanpur was found hanging from a pillar outside a temple on Tuesday morning, police said. Villagers who were going to their fields spotted the body and informed his family and the Bidhnu police. Police took down the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. The forensic team also examined the spot and collected evidence.
His family said he was addicted to alcohol and often had fights at home after drinking. He had left his mobile phone at home. When he did not return, family members searched nearby areas and relatives’ homes but found no trace of him. The exact reason for death will be clear after the post-mortem report.
Dilip earlier worked as a truck driver but left the job about five months ago and started working at a handloom shop in Kanpur. Dilip had left home on Sunday morning following an argument with his wife over his drinking habit, according to family members.
