Kanpur: GRP Kanpur Central police arrested an absconding accused from his ancestral home in Bihar ’s Katihar district, officials said on Tuesday.
The accused, Sameer , a resident of the Balrampur police station area in Katihar district, is wanted in multiple train theft cases and has several cases registered against him in Kanpur, according to police. Police said he had been hiding at his ancestral residence to evade arrest.

GRP Kanpur Central station house officer Om Narayan Singh said the area was cordoned off before the accused was apprehended. He added that the accused would soon be produced before a court. Download the TOI App.
