Kanpur: Shalu (37), a resident of Machhua Nagar in Kohna, died at a private hospital during treatment on Monday morning, seven days after consuming a poisonous substance, according to her family.
The family informed emergency service 112 after her death. Kohna police station in-charge Manish Kumar said the family had not made allegations against anyone. Police have sent the body for a post-mortem. Shalu is survived by her husband Sunil, who works in the private sector, and two sons. Download the TOI App.
Troubled by the illness, she consumed a poisonous substance on Oct 19 evening.
The family members said Shalu was undergoing treatment for a kidney ailment for two years but there was no improvement. She was admitted to a hospital as her condition worsened.
