The victims were identified as Kusum, 32-year-old wife of Ramkaran Yadav, Siyarani, 52, wife of Phoolchand, and Komal, 33, residents of Gujaini village. At around 6:30 in the evening, the three were crossing the Baha drain that fell on the way, holding each other’s hands, when they were swept away one after another in the strong current. Villagers, police and local divers who reached the spot found all the bodies at short distances from each other, about 500 metres from the incident site.
