Artistes perform during Ramlila in Aishbagh, Lucknow
The 10-day event will feature 63 personalities from the film, television and entertainment industries portraying various characters from the epic. Among the prominent names are Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, Raza Murad, Bindu Dara Singh, Malini Awasthi and Miss Universe India 2026 Kazia Liz Mejo. A major attraction is scheduled for Oct 19, when actor and Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan will play Lord Ram opposite Arun Bakshi as Ravana. The Ramleela will be broadcast through more than 80 satellite channels in 40 languages, reaching audiences across 60 countries, according to organisers.
Organisers said students from several schools, including Heera Public School, HSV Global, Parth International, HSV International and Misri Devi Gyan Niketan, participated in the production. Founder-president Subhash Malik said the inclusion of children was aimed at connecting younger generations with India’s cultural roots and timeless lessons of truth, duty and sacrifice. They said the production seeks to combine traditional storytelling with contemporary presentation, taking the message of the Ramayana to viewers in India and around the world.
Lucknow: Blending tradition with technology, the eighth edition of the Film Stars’ Ramleela commenced at Delhi’s Mavlankar Hall on Saturday, with child artists taking centrestage by performing the entire Ramayana from Lord Ram’s birth to his coronation.
