Look at their Rajya Sabha candidates

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony for various development projects, in Balrampur district

Addressing a public meeting in Balrampur, where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 803 crore, the chief minister said the SP had contested only two of the 10 Rajya Sabha seats and had allotted them to a family member and an industrialist.

“When I was asked about it the first time, I said PDA stands for ‘Parivar Development Authority’. Yogi said. Look at their Rajya Sabha candidates. One is Akhilesh Yadav ’s chacha jaan and the other is an industrialist. Where are the backward classes, or even the forward castes, whom the SP claims to represent?

Lucknow: Questioning the Samajwadi Party ’s choice of candidates for the recently concluded Rajya Sabha elections, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday gave his own interpretation of the SP’s PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) plank.

“Could anyone have imagined 10 years ago that Balrampur would have a university?

Those who try will be crushed, just as Naxalism and terrorism were,” he said. Balrampur is no longer an aspirational district; it is now a district of possibilities,” he said. The chief minister also sought to rally support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid the opposition’s ongoing protests, alleging that Congress and its allies had crossed all limits of decency. Saying that even protests have limits, Yogi claimed the opposition had abandoned democratic norms and basic civility and had resorted to abusing Prime Minister. “These people are trying to mislead the country. No one will be allowed to create anarchy in the state. The building of Maa Pateshwari University is almost ready, and once it is completed, I will invite Prime Minister for its grand inauguration. A medical college is being constructed here. There is a sugar mill and a Tharu museum.
