The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Lucknow: A woman was allegedly assaulted by four persons who entered her house in Indira Nagar after one of them approached her on the pretext of seeking domestic work on Oct 7.

The incident took place around 8 am at her residence in Sector 9, according to a complaint filed at Indira Nagar police station. In her complaint, Yadav also referred to an earlier incident on Sept 7 when a theft had allegedly taken place at her residence. The victim stated that CCTV footage of the Oct 7 incident was available and submitted it along with her hospital report in support of her complaint.

The four suspects suddenly left the house and fled towards Pani Gaon, turning right after exiting the premises, according to the complaint. The victim said she crawled and dragged herself towards the main gate while screaming for help. She said an online FIR had already been registered in connection with that incident.

Victim Suman Yadav was allegedly pushed inside her house, beaten severely and gagged with a dupatta to prevent her from raising an alarm. Yadav alleged that her doorbell rang repeatedly that morning. When she came downstairs and opened the gate, she found a young woman standing outside. A fruit vendor standing outside the house and passers-by gathered at the spot, helped her and alerted the Arvindo Park police outpost, located near her residence. The victim alleged that a police constable arrived approximately half an hour after the incident. An ambulance was subsequently called, and she was taken to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where she received emergency treatment. The case was registered at Indira Nagar police station on the basis of her written complaint.

The victim alleged that the attackers continued to beat her while she struggled to raise an alarm. She suffered bleeding injuries to her nose and mouth. The dupatta tied around her mouth also made it difficult for her to breathe.
