Lucknow: Lucknow bench of Allahabad high court has summoned the Uttar Pradesh PWD principal secretary to appear personally on Sept 14 over the poor condition of a 21-km Major District Road in Gonda. The court cited failure to join earlier proceedings via video conferencing as directed on Aug 10.
The petitioner had earlier told the court that the road was in such poor condition that it was difficult to use and required immediate repairs. Justices Alok Mathur and Amitabh Kumar Rai passed the order on a PIL by Mahendra Kumar Tripathi. The road is three metres wide, proposed to be widened to seven. A repair proposal awaits financial approval.
