Lucknow: The candidature of Group President of Reliance Industries Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani as Samajwadi Party nominee for Rajya Sabha has come as a surprise to many. But those privy to the developments that unfolded before Dhanraj was formally named SP nominee see it as just another highlight of the over two-decade-old bond between SP and the Ambani group.
Former Lok Sabha MP from Unnao, Anu Tandon, who was professionally associated with Reliance Group and made her political debut by joining the Congress, has been with SP since 2020. She contested the 2024 Lok Sabha polls on an SP ticket but couldn’t get through.
