Man beaten to death by brother-in-law; FIR against 5, including wife
Pilibhit : A 27-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his brother-in-law and three others following a dispute with his wife at his home in Palhanapur village under Bhira police station in Kheri district around 7.30pm on Friday. Police said Pankaj married Roshni, a resident of Kataiya village, on May 7 this year. Stay updated with the latest Bareilly news.
Police rushed to the spot and took Pankaj Kumar , a marginal farmer, to the nearest community health centre, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The couple had been having disputes since the beginning of their marriage. Sunil arrived at Pankaj’s house with three friends and allegedly assaulted him. Roshni’s father, Om Prakash, also reached the spot and tried to stop his son and the others, but Pankaj had already sustained serious injuries. Download the TOI App.
On Friday evening, Roshni allegedly called her brother after she and Pankaj had a quarrel over a minor issue.
Sunil and one of the other accused have been detained for questioning. Gola CO Mahak Sharma said an FIR was registered on Saturday on a complaint by Pankaj’s brother, Rakesh Kumar , against five people, including his wife, Roshni Devi, her brother, Sunil Kumar , and three of his associates.
