MLC voters can checkpolling details online

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Lucknow: Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections scheduled for Oct 23, the state election office has introduced an online facility allowing voters to check their polling stations and serial numbers in electoral rolls from home.

Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said polling for five graduate and six teacher constituencies will be held on Oct 23, from 8 am to 4 pm.

Voters can click the popup notification titled “Search your polling station by name for graduate and teacher constituency” on the homepage. Rinwa said voters must carry their elector photo identity card (EPIC) or an approved alternative photo identity document. To facilitate voters, details of polling stations and electoral roll serial numbers have been made available on the CEO’s official website, https://ceouttarpradesh.nic.in. They must select their constituency and district, enter their name or a relative’s name, or both and complete captcha verification. The system will display their polling station and serial number. Original university degrees or diplomas, disability certificates issued by competent authorities and Unique Disability ID cards are also acceptable. The CEO urged voters to verify their polling details online before election day and carry valid identification to exercise their franchise.
