Sharma proposed that Gatimaan Express be provided a halt at Mathura Junction in the interest of passengers. The demands were raised during a meeting convened to review railway infrastructure development, new train services and passenger amenities across Agra division. Fatehpur Sikri MP Rajkumar Chahar sought extension of the Etawah-Agra Cantt MEMU service to Bandikui and measures to prevent waterlogging in railway underpasses. Agra MP and Union minister SP Singh Baghel demanded a stoppage for the Kanpur-Delhi Shatabdi Express at Tundla and increased train frequency between Agra and Etah. Etawah MP Jitendra Kumar Dohare sought stoppages for Vande Bharat Express and Jammu Mail at Etawah. Rajya Sabha member Naveen Jain proposed regular train services connecting Agra with Indore and Ujjain, while Tejveer Singh sought increased frequency of the Hazrat Nizamuddin-Khajuraho service. Lucknow: Mathura MP Hema Malini ’s representative Janardhan Sharma has demanded a stoppage of the Gatimaan Express at Mathura Junction, along with construction of a foot overbridge connecting five platforms, during a meeting of parliamentarians with North Central Railway (NCR) general manager Naresh Pal Singh in Agra on Friday.
