The Mukhyamantri Krishi Utpadan Mandi Samiti Traders and Commission Agents Accident Assistance Scheme is an Uttar Pradesh Government initiative designed to provide financial support to the families of licensed traders and commission agents operating in regulated agricultural markets.
The scheme is therefore intended to provide a measure of financial security to the deceased person’s legal heirs. If a licensed Mandi trader or commission agent dies due to an eligible accident or external violent cause while conducting the specified business within the notified Mandi/sub-Mandi premises, the deceased person’s legal heirs are entitled to Rs 3 lakh financial assistance under the scheme. Financial assistance is provided in the event of death caused by external violence or accidental causes while undertaking the relevant commercial activity. The scheme seeks to provide social and financial security to traders and commission agents working in Uttar Pradesh’s regulated agricultural marketing system. By extending assistance to families in the event of accidental or violent death, it provides a safety net to those dependent on the deceased’s income.
