Gorakhpur : With heavy rainfall and strong winds affecting several parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, the North Eastern Railway (NER) has intensified monitoring and maintenance efforts to ensure safe and uninterrupted train operations across its network, CPRO, NER, Sumit Kumar said.
The officials said that passengers’ safety remains its highest priority and all efforts are being made to ensure smooth train services despite the challenging weather. The railway administration has advised passengers and the public to avoid venturing onto railway tracks, bridges and other sensitive railway premises during adverse weather conditions. Borwankar praised railway personnel for working round the clock under adverse weather conditions and directed officials and staff to accord top priority to rail safety while maintaining close coordination and vigilance. Special monsoon patrolling teams have been deployed in waterlogged areas, and additional pumps have been arranged to facilitate drainage.
