On Thursday, NCR GM NP Singh officially launched the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada-2026’ campaign. This initiative will run for a fortnight, promoting cleanliness and sanitation efforts across the region.
Prayagraj : North Central Railway (NCR) on Thursday launched the fortnight-long ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada-2026’ campaign at its headquarters, with general manager Naresh Pal Singh calling for cleanliness to become part of the organisation’s daily work culture.
Senior PRO, NCR, Amit Malviya said the activities include plantation drives, voluntary shramdaan under the “One Day, One Hour, Together” initiative, waste-to-art projects, cleanliness pledges, zero-waste measures at sports events, health check-ups for sanitation workers and cleanliness drives at tourist and heritage sites. A signature campaign and selfie campaign were also organised at the headquarters. The campaign would be taken across its divisions, workshops, units and offices to promote a clean railway environment.
Prayagraj division too launched the fortnight on Thursday, with divisional railway manager Rajnish Agrawal inaugurating the campaign at Tundla Junction.
The division has set a target of cleaning and mapping 5,000 locations, including stations, yards, railway colonies and areas around tracks. A mass shramdaan will be held on Oct 1. Stay updated with the latest Prayagraj news.
The campaign will continue from Sept 17 to Oct 2 under the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat”. The GM urged all to maintain cleanliness at railway stations, offices and public places, promote waste segregation and ensure dignity and respect for Safai Mitras. Principal chief mechanical engineer Anil Kumar Dwivedi outlined the activities planned during the fortnight. The campaign will focus on five core areas — cleaning and transformation of cleanliness target units and public places, youth participation through Swachh Pathshala, security and service camps for Safai Mitras, public participation and Swachhata Se Samriddhi. Special focus will be placed on sanitation workers through health check-ups, PPE kits and social security measures. The campaign will also promote waste segregation, composting, plastic bottle crushers and ‘Kabadi Se Kala’ activities. Download the TOI App.
