Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh addresses a press conference in Lucknow against non-payment of salaries to UP PACS employees
Lucknow: Reacting to chief minister Yogi Adityanath ’s statement on Wednesday morning that the contest between BJP or NDA and Samajwadi Party or PDA was an 80-20 one, based on the eight Rajya Sabha seats that BJP was likely to win against two for SP, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh said that the CM had the figures wrong. “The fight is actually 85 to PDA and 15 to NDA. Govt employees who have not been paid and who are struggling for food, schooling for their children and medical treatment, are supposedly in the 80 which support BJP, as claimed by the CM. “Union home and cooperative Minister Amit Shah claims that India will be a USD 5 trillion economy, but the ground reality is that PACS societies, considered the backbone of UP’s agriculture sector, are on the brink of starvation. UP has 7,266 PACS, of which employees of about 5,127 societies, including secretaries, accountants and watchmen, have not been paid salaries by the Yogi Adityanath govt since the past 8 years. UP govt’s budget is close to Rs 9 lakh crore, yet it cannot release a mere Rs 313 crore for salaries,” Singh alleged.
BJP only knows how to serve speeches and keep people hungry,” Singh said.
