Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav
Akhilesh said the repeated registration of cases against an elderly leader and his incarceration amounted to injustice and political vendetta. Referring specifically to Azam, the SP chief said, “The conspiracy against the senior functionary is not going unnoticed. Describing the repeated imprisonment of an elderly person in what he termed “meaningless cases” as a “cowardly act”, he said the ruling establishment was encouraging a political culture that could eventually turn against those responsible. “When injustice crosses all limits, it ultimately becomes a source of retribution for those responsible for perpetrating it,” he said. “Questions are being raised over injustice to Muslims in Uttar Pradesh , the use of bulldozers against people described as innocent,” he said.
