Kaifulwara said his family had welcomed the Gorakshpeethadhishwar’s Vijayadashami procession for generations, adding that the Gorakshpeeth viewed people beyond distinctions of religion and faith. The event, held to mark the victory of truth and righteousness, reflected long-standing customs associated with the Gorakshpeeth. Wearing traditional attire, Yogi rode a chariot decorated with flowers after offering prayers at Gorakhnath temple to Guru Gorakhnath, revered as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. As the convoy moved through crowded streets, devotional music and instruments associated with the Nath sect—nagfani, turhi, drums and damru—set the rhythm, joined by bands and displays by young members of Hanuman Dal. Devotees showered flowers and sought blessings, while prasad from the nine-day Sharadiya Navratri rituals was distributed along the way. Soon after the procession left the temple, members of the Muslim and weaver communities greeted Yogi with flower showers. Former Uttar Pradesh Urdu Academy chairman Chaudhary Kaifulwara garlanded him, and Yogi acknowledged the reception and shared Navratri prasad with Kaifulwara and others. Members of Weaver Welfare Society, including Uttar Pradesh Haj Committee member Junaid Ahmad Ansari and Azizul Hai, also welcomed the chief minister. Muslim women and children watched from their homes, with several recording the moment on mobile phones. The Sindhi community offered greetings near Shri Jhulelal temple, and flower showers continued along the route. At Mansarovar temple, Yogi performed rituals to Lord Shiva and other deities amid Vedic chants and conducted abhishek. He later paid floral tribute to the statue of Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar outside Ramlila Maidan before proceeding to the main venue. At Ramlila Maidan, he performed the rajtilak of Lord Ram and offered worship and aarti to Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman. Ten folk troupes from across Uttar Pradesh performed at various points, featuring conch-shell blowing, badhava dance, pai danda, peacock dance, raas, faruwahi, dedhiya and tribal dance, adding cultural colour to the traditional procession.
