The Tagore Library at the University of Lucknow will reopen its reading room for students on Saturday, September 19. This comes after an extended closure of nearly 18 months due to the pandemic, as confirmed by the university administration on Friday. The reopening is expected to provide students with access to vital academic resources once again.
The reading room, which has a seating capacity of around 400, had remained inaccessible during the prolonged renovation period, according to LU officials. Librarian Roli Mishra said, “The reading room has been renovated keeping in mind the needs of students and research scholars. The facility has undergone fresh painting and other improvements, while dampness-related issues have also been addressed. Wall tiles and flooring have been repaired or replaced, and table lamps and fans have been fixed. It is widely used by students preparing for competitive examinations as well as research scholars. .
