Forensic field unit collectsevidence from the spot
LUCKNOW: The family of a 24-year-old woman who died after falling from the 10th floor of a hotel in Lucknow’s Sushant Golf City area has accused a pump set shop owner of deliberately pushing her to her death following a dispute over marriage. The hotel’s security in-charge informed them around 6:34 pm on Oct 12 that a woman staying in room 1037 had fallen from the building, according to police.
Police said the man came downstairs using the lift after the incident, went to the basement and left on a motorcycle. Police said the two met at a party hosted by a mutual friend and remained in touch. The family further alleged that the man fled on a motorcycle immediately after the incident. A police team reached the spot, following which a forensic field unit conducted photography and videography and collected evidence. Investigators have secured the hotel’s CCTV footage and are examining electronic, scientific and documentary evidence to establish the sequence of events. The family has alleged that the death was not accidental. The allegations are yet to be established, and police are investigating the circumstances in which the girl fell. The accused, along with his two brothers, ran a pump set business and was also involved in real estate.
Police registered a murder case on Tuesday based on a complaint filed by the woman’s sister and formed two teams to trace and arrest the named accused.
