Agra: A tragic accident occurred on Monday morning in Hathras district, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to five others. The incident involved a car transporting seven labourers that collided head-on with a school bus. The collision took place between the villages of Kakodi and Alhaipur, under the jurisdiction of the Chandpa police station.

Hathras DSP JN Asthana said, “The remaining five are undergoing treatment at Bagla Hospital. The group, all involved in loading and unloading work, was returning from Kasganj district after going there for a dip in the river on the last Monday of Shravan when the accident occurred. The collision badly damaged both vehicles, leaving the occupants of the car trapped inside. They raised an alarm, following which residents informed police. A team from Chandpa police station reached the spot and shifted the injured to Bagla Hospital. The bodies were sent for postmortem. The police have taken both the bus and the car into custody. The bus driver is absconding and efforts are on to nab him. Prima facie, the driver of the car dozed off, which caused the car to lose control and crash into the bus.”
