A lamp-lighting ceremony took place in Gorakhpur on Thursday evening as part of the Seva Sankalp Campaign. This event emphasized public service, good governance, and inclusive development. Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan Shukla participated by lighting the ceremonial lamp, which symbolizes a commitment to service and nation-building.
Speakers said Gorakhpur is emerging not only as a religious and cultural centre but also as a hub for healthcare, education, industry and modern infrastructure. Organisers said true objective of welfare schemes is achieved when benefits reach eligible beneficiaries transparently and improve their quality of life. The programme focused on welfare initiatives and development work under Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s leadership. Speakers highlighted efforts aimed at improving the lives of farmers, women, youth and economically weaker sections through various govt schemes. The programme also showcased Gorakhpur’s transformation in recent years, citing improvements in road, rail and air connectivity, expansion of healthcare and educational infrastructure and growing industrial activity. The expansion of industrial activity in GIDA was cited as a factor contributing to job creation and economic growth in the region. The lamp-lighting ceremony aimed at spreading awareness, service and development across society.
