UP CEO reviews preparations for 11 legislative council seats going to polls
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh chief electoral officer Navdeep Rinwa on Thursday reviewed preparations for the 2026 biennial elections to 11 Legislative Council constituencies, comprising five graduates’ and six teachers’ seats. Rinwa chaired a video conference with divisional commissioners, who serve as returning officers, and district magistrates, designated as assistant returning officers, to assess election readiness. He directed officials to ensure free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections in accordance with Election Commission of India guidelines. Rinwa reviewed preparations concerning electoral rolls, polling stations, deployment of polling personnel, election materials and other logistical arrangements. He instructed officials to complete all preparations within the prescribed schedule.
