PRAYAGRAJ: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly bludgeoned to death by her husband over suspicion of an extramarital affair in Mandar Dehamafi village under Puramuftee police station late Thursday night.
Bhaiyalal suspected that his wife was involved in a relationship with another man, leading to frequent quarrels between the couple, according to police. Police registered a case against the accused husband on the complaint of the woman’s father and subsequently arrested him. Vijma’s uncle Ramraj alleged that Bhaiyalal had returned from her parental home with Vijma and their children three days ago and subsequently killed her with the stone grinder. The report indicated that the woman had suffered severe injuries to her head and face caused by a hard, heavy object.
The two reportedly had an argument on Thursday night. Her family members were informed by police on Friday morning, following which her father Ram Bhavan reached the police station and lodged a complaint accusing Bhaiyalal of murder. Police conducted the post-mortem on Friday evening. Puramuftee SHO Shantanu Singh said the husband was arrested and, after completion of formal judicial proceedings, was sent to jail on Saturday.
