The victims were identified as Karan Rajbhar, 13, and Aryan Rajbhar, 11. Pooja’s daughter, Pratima, allegedly witnessed the incident and raised an alarm, news agency PTI reported, according to police.
About two years ago, Arjun, who was working in Mumbai, allegedly married another woman and stopped returning home, leaving Pooja and the children facing financial difficulties, Raja said. Police said the woman allegedly gave the children food mixed with a sedative before attacking them with an iron object. The children’s sister allegedly witnessed the incident and raised the alarm. Pooja was living with her father-in-law and the children, he added.
GHAZIPUR: A woman allegedly sedated her two minor sons and killed them by striking them on the head with an iron object at their home in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur district, police said on Thursday. Their bodies were found on a cot inside a room of their home in Rajahati village on Wednesday, with serious injuries to their heads, police said.
Superintendent of Police Dr Iraj Raja said a forensic team examined the scene and the investigation was videographed. Police are examining all aspects of the case and questioning the children’s mother, Pooja.
