Union minister of state for education and development of North Eastern region (DoNER) Sukanta Majumdar
Kolkata: BJP ’s Gangarampur MLA Satyendra Nath Roy has been served a show-cause notice for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Union minister Sukanta Majumdar.
The notice terms Roy’s remarks “shameful” and a breach of party discipline. In the same video, Roy also alleged that some BJP netas were colluding with Trinamool to damage the party. Copies have been sent to state BJP president Samik Bhattacharya, state in charge Sunil Bansal, co-in charge Mangal Pandey, and South Dinajpur district president Swarup Choudhury.
Political Tensions Emerge Over Praise for Majumdar
The political dispute intensified after Biplab Mitra, the Trinamool Congress state president and former minister, publicly commended the work of Majumdar. In response, Roy released a video questioning Majumdar’s connections with Mitra and criticized the minister for not voicing any objections. He referred to them as ‘mastuto bhai,’ a Bengali phrase that suggests a collusion between corrupt figures.
