Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at two-day workshop on Mission Karmayogi in Lucknow
Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said the state govt’s focus on attracting investments, expanding public amenities and creating new opportunities was part of its effort to build a “new Uttar Pradesh”, linking cultural celebrations with a parallel push for technology-led growth.
Yogi also contrasted the present with the pre-2017 period, alleging that Uttar Pradesh earlier lacked respect for its heritage and had limited scope for science and development, making investment and employment expansion difficult. Since 2017, he said, improved connectivity and policy measures focused on electronics manufacturing, digital infrastructure and investment had created new possibilities. MoUs to be signed with global companies and universities at the summit would open avenues for technological research, innovation and high-skill employment, according to Yogi.
“We will ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in society and that UP’s youth get the opportunity to establish a global identity on their own soil,” he said. Citing India’s position as the “GCC Capital of the World”, he said Uttar Pradesh was emerging as a hub within the country’s electronics ecosystem, adding that the vision of “Viksit UP” would be achieved through a convergence of heritage, education and technology-driven prosperity.
In a social media post, Yogi connected his scheduled engagements for the day—launching development works in Bithoor on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti and inaugurating the GCC Innovation Summit 2026 in Lucknow—saying the two events represented the state’s development journey rooted in heritage and aimed at future-ready jobs. On the other hand, he said, the GCC Innovation Summit 2026 was an opportunity to give a new direction to efforts to make Uttar Pradesh a major centre for global technology, innovation and a knowledge-based economy.
Referring to Valmiki Jayanti, he said the state was marking the birth anniversary of Adikavi Maharishi Valmiki, who, through the Ramayan, introduced generations to “the life and character of Prabhu Shri Ram and the ideals of Ram Rajya”.
