More than 1.71 lakh people and 251 villages have been impacted by the floods, according to an estimate. CM noted that approximately 26 districts in the state have been affected by floods due to heavy rain over the past few days. Because of floods, “Loss of life has been minimal this year.
Yogi said he remained in constant contact with public representatives and the administration, frequently reviewing flood relief operations via video conferencing to ensure that no affected family faced any hardship. Dredging and channelisation will be carried out, particularly in Ghaghara River, wherever required,” he said. Yogi said govt’s objective is not only to provide relief to people but also to safeguard the livestock of affected families.
Work is underway to find a permanent solution to the flood problem by channelising rivers and regulating their flow through dredging where necessary. Arrangements are being made for the vaccination and medication of animals, as well as for essential supplies like straw and fodder.
