Bhumi Pednekar has taken her fashion game to New York.

The actor made her debut at New York Fashion Week as the showstopper for Nazranaa’s Spring/Summer 2027 show, closing the runway in a dramatic maroon lehenga inspired by the architecture and philosophy of Belur Math in West Bengal. Nazranaa’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Samskriti 2.0, was presented on September 16 at Refectory Chelsea in New York City. Because of the way they took stories, symbols and traditions that are so deeply rooted in India and translated them into beautiful, modern couture, “Closing the show for Nazranaa’s Samskriti 2.0 felt incredibly special.

“There is something very special about seeing Indian culture celebrated on a global stage like New York Fashion Week,” she said. The idea was to reflect beauty in diversity. Her beauty look stayed dramatic but clean, with heavily lined eyes, defined brows and a nude lip. The collection also looked beyond traditional fashion references. Two menswear jackets were inspired by Indian mathematical and literary traditions, including Acharya Pingala’s Meru Prastara and the multidirectional Sanskrit pattern poem Sarvatobhadra by the seventh-century poet Māgha. For Nazranaa, the Belur Math design is rooted in the idea of universal faith. The temple itself is known for an architectural style that brings together different religious influences.
