Dia Mirza has taken a strong position in favour of sustainability in fashion with her distinctive wardrobe. She is often seen wearing nature-friendly ensembles in an artisanal version that favours honest fabrics over synthetic materials. The actress again turned the page and was seen in an exquisite brown saree by the New Delhi-based fashion brand Studio Medium by textile specialist Riddhi Jain Satija for her latest outing, where this time she chose a Shibori saree to take the lead.
The Rhizo saree worn by Dia from the label looked minimal and perfect for a day outing. The word ‘Rhizo’ is derived from the Greek word ‘root’, where the infamous Shibori work on the saree is made to look like roots that grow underground in plants. This detailing makes a huge change, giving the saree a new meaning and highlighting craftsmanship to many, which is usually lesser-known to people. (Image Credits: Instagram) The pallu encountered in this design looked embellished and was adorned with root-like tassel motifs, which complemented the garment’s botanical theme. The colour scheme employed has been carefully selected to reflect the topics from the natural world, with the shades of clay, greening sprout, mineral peach, sand, patina, and, of course, ivory, which were chosen based on the colours of the earth and minerals. The shades used translated onto Dia as a muted warm brown colour and were characterised by light streaks resembling bark. She completed the look with a simple sleeveless blouse in a neutral colour that sat perfectly with its aesthetics. A pretty nose pin was just another subtle detail that gave an edge to her subtle makeup avatar. She kept things neutral with a bright base, softly defined eyes, and natural lips.
