For Anuradha Viswanathan, September 2026 brought a demanding schedule and opportunities at two of the world’s major fashion capitals. On September 13, she walked the ramp for an Indian label at the New York Fashion Week, and on September 19, she was in London, modeling a collection incorporating Indian handloom traditions at a presentation held during London Fashion Week. After appearing on the runway in New York, she travelled across the Atlantic for another fashion presentation in London, with just six days separating the two engagements.
It centered on a collection influenced by Indian craftsmanship,” she says. Her work in London was for a collection that combined traditional Indian textile techniques with contemporary fashion design, bringing handloom-based clothing to a London runway audience. “The London engagement differed from her New York appearances in both its presentation and design focus. Travel was among the more demanding aspects of the schedule, but for Anuradha, participating in both cities offered an opportunity to observe differences in their fashion environments. Describing New York as more commercially oriented, with an emphasis on ready-to-wear fashion and international marketability, she added, “On the other hand, London was more about experimental design and unconventional creative approaches. Of course, these are just observations based on my experience, not a study of the entire fashion market.
The September appearances followed Anuradha’s participation in fashion-related events in Cannes earlier in 2026.
“The New York and London appearances added another chapter to my modelling career and I look forward to more of these experiences across the globe,” she says on a concluding note. She believes the professional contacts and exposure from Cannes contributed to her subsequent appearances at New York and London.
