Cricket West Indies said, “Amir Jangoo has been added to the squad as cover for the wicketkeeping position following the finger injury sustained by Jewel Andrew during Saturday’s third ODI. The West Indies have added wicketkeeper-batter Amit Jangoo to their squad for the upcoming T20I series against India. Andrew was injured while taking a catch to dismiss India batter Naman Dhir. The wicketkeeper immediately left the field and was taken to hospital for an X-ray as the West Indies medical team assessed the extent of the injury. Andrew is still being monitored and assessed by the medical team. Andrew picked up the injury on the final delivery of the 36th over of India’s innings. Dhir chipped a delivery from left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie towards cover, where Andrew completed the catch but took a heavy blow to his finger.
He has been brought in as cover for Jewel Andrew, who suffered a finger injury during the third ODI in New Chandigarh on Saturday.
