Bret Hart recalled the time he was teaming up with his brother-in-law, Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart, and highlighted a particular match from 1989. One of their opponents was named One Man Gang, who weighed close to 600 pounds at the time. “I think I came maybe like a hair close to paralyzing myself, and it’s like a 600-pound guy sits on your chest from about that high and just drops.

During the match, Hart revealed that One Man Gang told him to do a sunset flip after hitting the ropes.

The Hitman said, “H e threw me in the ropes and told me to sunset flip him. The Excellence of Execution said that he was lying in the ring and had a numb feeling all over his body. Like, he almost broke—he almost paralyzed me”, said Bret Hart.

They had squared off against a team named Twin Towers. However, when the former WWE Champion did it, One Man Gang dropped his full weight onto Hart’s chest instead of taking the bump as he should have. And so, I sunset flipped him, and he did one of those where he almost fell down, like almost falling, and then he just kicked his both legs out and sat on my chest. And not a good move. Hart then made the horrific revelation that it almost brought him an inch close to being paralyzed. I had this numb feeling over my whole body like I was paralyzed. I was lying in the ring going, I think that’s about as close as you can get to being paralyzed. Despite the incident, Bret Hart doesn’t look back on the match with bitterness; instead, he called it a great bout. He went on to become a top singles wrestler in WWE and is credited as one of the greatest performers of all time.
